Singing Through the Internal Organs
A fun, musical journey through the organs of the body
This musical/science show has the audience participating in
the game show THE ARTERIES vs THE VEINS. With 9 original songs,
factoid cards, life sized organ props, "Bobby Body"
, singing, movement and of course some humor, students are introduced
to 7 internal organs, their location and function and vocabulary.
(visual, tactile, kinesthetic learning) supports California standards
for science heavy metal brain- Im in control
the beating heart - I pump your blood (dance) jazzy
liver - I can deliver a fluid called.. bile.. bluegrass
kidneys- I drank too much water..... churning stomach
- ch, ch, churnin the food into chyme breath of life
lungs - very inspiring, this respiration thing....
do-wop intestines - how long are they really? watch them
unroll on stage......
Math and Patterns in Music
Rhythmic and melodic patterns in Beethoven and Pop songs
Using chant, clapping, singing, keyboard demonstration, and visuals,
students are introduced to the mathematical relationships in rhythm,
tempo, melody, harmony and composition. They learn about note
values, melodic and rhythmic patterns and musical symbols. Familiar
tunes illustrate the hidden math patterns in the music. Ever wonder
why Its A Small World sticks in your head for weeks?
Why is the Rugrats music easy to play? What is music
pizza? Wendy Hersh has a masters degree in Music Education.

Performing Artist Philip Briggs has
two school assemblies available:

The World in the Circus
Tracing the history of the circus from ancient Egypt, Asia,
Africa, Europe and the Americas
Circus arts come from everywhere. Drawing from his experience
in the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus and his
degree in Theatre from Duke University, Philip Briggs, as ringmaster,
clown, juggler and acrobat will entertain and educate his audiences
about the historical and cultural beginnings of this most eclectic
art form.
Clowning with the Classics
A clown's interpretation of the works of Mozart, Bach and Beethoven
Classical music remains an enduring part of our cultural landscape.
Mr. Briggs (Epoxie the Clown) will transform from bumbling buffoon
to triumphant hero through the inspiration of several classical
compositions. Clown, juggling, plate spinning and rope walking
routines will be performed to the works of Beethoven, Khachaturian,
Copeland and others demonstrating the inspirational power of classical
music.
